Hi Paul,

Two quotes were obtained, one from the incumbent and one from a security firm that I use in my business. The incumbent came in around $1200 cheaper mainly because they could use the existing equipment rather than new equipment. I know you're paranoid about jobs for mates and these sorts of things. But I can assure you this is not the case here. I will dig up the quote and post it when I get a second later today I showed the security guys around with William. I accompanied the contractors myself as I wanted to ensure the work is exactly as we spoke about in our meeting. The fine detail of the camera positions I don't think could have been portrayed accurately third hand. Both companies had the same solutions with the exception of an additional DVR.

Both companies said only registered lift contractors could run cable in the lift. Which is why we are going back to Lift Tronic to get that part of the quote. William is working on that now as he usually works with the lift guys. We have given the lift guys just enough information to make it as cheap as possible and given them no scope to inflate the quote.

The cheapest option appears to be using the existing systems which have enough capacity for the additional cameras that we spoke of. The biggest cost is getting cable to the eastern side. Which covers both the rear lane camera and Mcenvoy st. The price is just under $5900. This does not include lift cameras.

Both security people I spoke to said that wireless cameras in lifts were unreliable and I could only find one company that did wireless and they did not have any/poor reviews.

We can review the lift cameras when we get the quote from LiftTronic. But I thought we may not want to hold up the rest of the work for that. Lift guys are slow.
