Hi Diana,

The levy is due payable 1st September 2012 so you have not received it 2 weeks after it is due.  Any levy that is issued always has a 30 day grace period before any interest is charged.  You are only charged interest if it has been paid after the 3o day grace period.  This is not charged by the DEFT system it is charged by the owners corporation and encourages owners to pay their levies by the due date ore within the grace period.  If an owner has been charged interest for late payment it is up to the EC as to whether the interest is removed.

Hi all,

Me too, my sister is opening my mail and only got the notice two weeks after it was due.  May Maxine direct the daft Deft people to stop charging us interest a nd then interest on interest, adding insult to injury on these impossible-to-pay-on-time bills. I haven't paid it yet, would like to receive it online just this once.. Who do I ASK?
