Hi All,
Looks like the DA's are finally out. It seems the developers have gone
for a much smaller scale then initially indicated so that's good at
least. It does still seriously impact the views of the owners on the
North Eastern side. It also looks to have occupants significantly
higher then us which would be a good thing should we decided to develop
the roof into more apartments. (As a great parting suggestion from Ed)
This would permanently solve our buildings cash flow problems allowing
us to renovate the building and solve all the leaks permanently at the
loss of space that is not used all that much. Obviously it's still a
complex issue and agreement would need to be sought which is often not
forthcoming. But im sure we would all agree much lower strata fees would
benefit us all.
I recommend we engage an architect to consult on the impacts of the
building renderings etc for the view losses to the North Western side.
It might also be worth using the same firm to see if we can get some
ideas on perhaps developing the roof given the size if next door goes
ahead in it's current form.
I do have some suggestions when it comes to a good firm.
Kind regards
Matt
