I do agree with Ed, I support the use of CCTV as an investigative tool, but do feel this matter has been resolved.

My preference is that we respect people’s privacy. I would only support releasing security footage if criminal damage, stalking, violence, harassment or other criminal behaviour was involved.

Subsequent to my asking to see the footage, I received an email from Cathy Rechichi, who has now returned to the Marquis. She advised she had pulled up the plastic protection as it was “dirty”.  She left it in a pile (see pic).

I advised her that the plastic was down to protect the lobby carpet while the works are going on in my bathrooms (the contractors clean it at the end of each day).

We have put down some new plastic sheeting and will continue to clean it at the end of each day.

I would still like to see the footage please.

The Owner of apartment 601 has reported that the plastic carpet protection installed in the level 6 common area has been pulled up by someone on Saturday evening. Apartment 601 has requested that we use the CCTV to identify the person responsible.



The use of CCTV equipment and review or provision of CCTV footage, is governed around and not limited to the following laws in Australia

Surveillance Devices Act 2007 ("SDA") and

Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act) and

Workplace Surveillance Act 2005 ("WSA")



Reviews of footage and distribution is NOT permitted without prior approval from the owners of the equipment which in this case is the EC. Please advise if you have no problem releasing the footage to apartment 601? Thanks
