Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your information.

I'm not really concerned about it being seen as perhaps identity theft when
I can't even get my real garbage into one of the red bins because boxes,
bottles and cans are filled up in there.

Today one box was left, with a lady's address on it, on top of the yellow
bins and the box contained regular garbage and recyclable items. It was
something the owner/tenant could have easily taken care of by herself.

I think it would be helpful for Greg to put yet another letter together to
put under each apartment's door, and the letter should really highlight the
problem in the building. Thank you Greg for organizing this.

Best wishes,

Craig

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your email and addressing your concerns.

Whilst I appreciate recycling is always tricky and not all owners and
tenants abide by the rules, I would not recommend going through specific
rubbish items or opening bags to identify who the rubbish belongs to as this
could be seen as an invasion of their privacy. Many residents may also be
concerned about identity theft which is becoming a growing issue in many
areas of Sydney, so having their rubbish taken out of bins could create even
more of a stir.

We are happy to continue to circulate information to everyone regarding how
residents should be disposing of rubbish, however unfortunately it is never
going to be perfect as not everyone places the same importance on recycling.

Kind regards,

Good morning Sarah,

Recycling is very important as you are aware.

Unfortunately, we have many people in our building who are putting bottles,
papers, pizza boxes etc into the regular garbage bins and they fill up very
quickly. When I go down to the Garbage room I do my best to move recyclable
items from the regular garbage red bins to the yellow bins. Many times, I
come across an envelope with the name of a tenant or owner on it, inside a
bag. I don't like having to transfer recyclables to the appropriate bin.
Even though we have plenty of notices in the Garbage room, many people are
not recycling and the correct bins fill up with the wrong stuff!

In the case of an owner, I'm happy to contact the person and ask them to be
certain to put their recyclables in the correct bin. It's easy to recycle.
When it comes to a tenant, if I see an apartment number, I'm happy to do the
same thing, however should I contact their real estate agent to get them to
ask the person to put their garbage in the correct bin? If I am to contact
the agent, how do I find out which one it is? Can we get that list of
agents when tenants move in?

Do you have a solution to this please?

Thank you and regards,

Craig
