I'll be meeting on site with Brett from Newlife on Monday. He has asked for access to a couple of apartments to take a better look at the cladding, which I will take care of.

Please see below Newlifes proposed step process

  1.
Establish how and what type of construction has been used in the existing structure.
  2.
Sign contracts of agreement
  3.
Arrange meeting with our facade engineer to create a design to code with mechanical fixings.
  4.
Assess existing facade waterproof performance.
  5.
Meet with City Council if required.
  6.
Create a CDC if required, hopefully will not be required.
  7.
Supply samples to strata committee.
  8.
Design a methodology for replacing the cladding, whether working off a scaffold, EWP or abseiling.
  9.
Firm or amend price, if any, depending on the engineers design.
  10.
Discuss with the strata committee about removing the existing glass awnings to the front entries, Matt mentioned that they would prefer to take down and leave down.
  11.
Arrange Council Permits for working over/on the footpath.
  12.
Start with the western external corner replacement first, then onto the front portal.
  13.
Last replacement area is the south eastern vertical corner.

The actual cladding replacement process will take approx .7-10 weeks once the design (hopefully quicker) and planning is completed, the actual facade engineering design and planning may take about the same amount of time.

This will indicate that the strata is committed to replacing the cladding.
