They don't need to visit each property to assess prior, they will just commence works within the scheduled rate charged within their quotation/tender.

I have included Danny the engineer in this email who may be able to better explain than me.

Hi Craig,

The engineers have explained that it will be a schedule of rates item in the quotation, so essentially this means that they provide it as a rated item and a certain quantity is quoted for, should less quantity be used then this will reduce the overall price within the contract.

Apparently this is standard when tender/quoting on large scale projects.

My only question is how can correct quotes be given if the engineers have not visited each apartment to assess any repairs. No engineer came to my apartment to see the rusted concrete. How can a 'proper' quote be given if one apartment has a lot of repairs and another apartment may have nothing to repair?

Thanks for your email.

The engineers are currently tendering out the technical specifications, so we are not yet in receipt of quotations or have a start date for the works.

As soon as we receive the quotations and tender analysis report they will be circulated to the committee for review.

Good morning Sarah,

As you are aware, I was overseas for a couple of months. Would you kindly provide some information regarding the upcoming repairs to the Marquis Apartments as I haven't seen an email about this.:


  1.  Is there a date Sydney Council has told us we must have the present cladding taken out and new cladding put in? If so, have contractors been asked to provide their quotes yet?
  2.  It was good to hear that at the same time as the cladding is being replaced, we'll have the repairs made to the rust/concrete areas and we'll only have the scaffolding up once for all these repairs.
