[200WILLIAM-EC SP67851] Lift Cameras.

Good morning all,

Thanks for this update Matt.

It would appear that the only conclusion here is to forget about the lift
security cameras until a more affordable option becomes available or until
we have mega $$ in the kitty. We must just ensure that all dummy cameras
are replaced with working cameras and that McElrone street is adequately
covered.

Any update on when the lights in the lifts can be fixed, not a good look at
the moment.

Kind regards

Paul

Hi All,
William has sorted out a quote for the cable in the lifts after extensive
consultation with both the security company and the lift people.
Unfortunately, there is only one working spare wire pair in the travel
cable within the lift shaft. Wires in the travel cable may be damaged over
time, and they always keep a spare pair of wires in the cable to facilitate
the safe, reliable function of the lifts. As such, a second expanded travel
cable would need to be installed for lift cameras while still providing the
necessary backup. The job could only be completed after the mandatory lift
safety upgrades are completed, which were agreed to by the BMC last month
and are still to be scheduled.

The cost of installing the cable is $11,422, plus the $2600 from the
security people. A total expense of almost $14k for two lift cameras. The
security people also considered wireless cameras; however, as our lift
shaft does not have a lift motor room on top, they could not see a way
forward to reliably install it wirelessly.

It's a resounding no from me. We simply don't have room in the budget for
this, and I think it's largely unnecessary. I have included the quote for
completeness.

Matt.
