[200WILLIAM-EC SP67851] Fwd: Draft Submission 2 - for review

Natalie, Matt G, Matt P, Craig,

I have now had time to read the submission in full and agree that the
document is excellent.

I agree that the highlights and underlining should remain to serve the
purpose of drawing the eye to salient points, this has always been good
practice despite recent `social media’ now adopting the idea that BOLD
lettering = SHOUTING. It doesn’t.

Yesterday I noticed that the afternoon traffic was banked upon Forbes
street all the way back to the Cathedral street traffic lights, a common
occurrence because of the two lanes being narrowed to one to allow access
to the ED but not allowing for the traffic going straight ahead to William
street, which is one of our options for access. The change in this area is
necessary now but will become virtually impossible unless a radical rethink
of this bottleneck is undertaken.

One additional point, on page 24 there is mention, if I read it correctly,
that there is still a possibility of a design competition . If this is the
case then the existing proposal is still just a template that can be
changed at their pleasure.

I hope we get a reasonable response but I remain cynical that the City of
Sydney Council will take time to seriously consider objections, I hope to
be proved wrong.

Kind regards

Paul

Thank you. Yes, I know it looks really bossy. The way it works now is that
the officer will read in full (with highlighted points as ‘highlights’) and
various other supervisors and panels in Council and at decision may skim so
this is the reason for those – get those punchy points out.

However - I am more than happy for the advice though as to this and which
highlight points to convey.

Thanks all for reading. N

Hello Natalie and Matt,

I have just completed reading through the second draft and think it is
really excellent. I do prefer to stay with the underlining and the bold
letters because one's eye is drawn to that copy and it is easier for the
people in council to read. So, let's stay with that please Natalie.

Best wishes and thank you for such great work Natalie.

Craig

Thank you.

I am happy to take it off (bold and so forth) but I do this in case panels
in the future skim read (to see quick highlight points) and because it is
so lengthy. Good to have feedback so if you want me to tone that down I
can.

Thank you, Natalie

Hi Craig/Natalie,

That looks very thorougher. From my perspective it's a bit hard on the
eyes with all that bold and underlining but I guess that's the point in
these cases. Thanks for your work here Natalie it has my approval.

Kind regards

Matt

Draft Submission 2 - for review

Hi Craig, I hope you are travelling well?

Please find the draft attached.

Did you want me to send it to others?

This is due Friday if you have a chance to review.

A few things to note:

I have updated discussion to address new documents.

I have put lots of bold and underline to draw attention to key points for
any eventual skim readers (eg to remind any panels of highlight issues)

I will be attaching our original view assessment once again, even though
they already have it to make the point again about the views not being
assessed.

There is a rebranded mixed use (employment focussed) zone as of the other
week - so I have updated this and we have a few new handy objectives to
rely on there as this is a residentially focussed development.

Thanks and let me know your thoughts when you can.

Regards, Natalie
