Regarding the gym and sauna being reopened, just having the QR code doesn’t protect those using these areas from others entering, who may be unvaxxed because no one is monitoring the entry.  I have a really big concern just ‘trusting’ people (who may not in fact be double vaxxed).

Fitness First at Kings Cross have a system where initially you scan your Covid Certificate and QR code when returning to the gym for the first time.  This is then linked to your membership card. The next time to their gym you only have to use the QR code.

I am against reopening our gym and sauna unless we can adopt a similar procedure as Fitness First. This COVID virus is extremely clever in the way develops and redevelops itself.  I have a friend, who only last night, has come down with COVID, well after receiving her two vaccinations.

Committee, following on from the previous discussion regarding opening up the gym and sauna, this document confirms NSW Health permit us to open if we choose. 

*       Where common areas such as gyms, indoor pools or saunas are kept open, resident safety can be supported by clearly signposting capacity limits or voluntarily using a QR code check-in system.

I feel that since we pay for these facilities in our strata fees, they should be accessible to residents. Those who don’t feel they don’t want to use the areas don’t have to.
