Hi Mat,
Tomorrow rules are yet to be confirmed. Given. 200 cases from one person at a night club in Newcastle they may as well be modified before tomorrow.

To my thinking and I have property in Elan that was locked down with security guards and police where residents were prevented from leaving due to a NSW health order a large super spreader event in our building will likely yield the same situation in our building.

In past years NYE on the roof and in the building has been chaos. Many hundreds of visitors to the building. Random gate crashes sneaking into the building fire escape propped open many many movements between floors and parties. Bottles and cigarette thrown from the roof vomit in lifts. Once we instigated the strict limits wrist bands and no drinking it improved but it doesn’t change the situation that the roof operates more as a night club on NYE then a common area. It also costs us money to pay security guards and cleaners.

I don’t want to see all the residents locked in their apartments for all of January because of NYE. It’s a no from me.

Matt

NSW health are still locking down entire buildings when large numbers of COVID infections are detected in one spot. (Bondi on the weekend) So even if you dont go to the roof a major outbreak will likely cause our entire building to be locked in.

After crunching the numbers I propose we engage 2 x security and 1 x cleaner and open the eastern rooftop at 7:30pm. The cost per ticket this year will need to increase from $30 to $50 and the event numbers should be capped at 50 - 55pax. Please let me know your thoughts so I can start making the arrangements. Thanks
