[200William-EC SP67851] GYM and SAUNA

Hi EC,

I would support the treadmill being serviced as required. If it cannot be serviced and is inoperable, then I would hold off replacing it.

Regards,
Ed

I thought the gym was closed until the 15th perhaps when there was an issue with the security system after the power failure a few weeks back it reset to its previous settings opening the gym.

If there is a problem with the treadmill we can get Darren to get it serviced prior to the reopening. Seems like the prudent way ahead.

As I’m sure you all know I think the gym offers little utility to the building and only costs us more in upkeep. I think replacing the treadmill would be an unnecessary expense at a time when we are haemorrhaging money on critical building issues like water leaks. Feel free to disagree.

Matt

Good morning,

I ran into the owner of apartment 503 today when I went into the gym. He was in the sauna and I advised him, that until further notice, we were keeping the gym and sauna closed. He stated that he had seen others entering the gym, which means that the fobs are still working.

He completely understood the reason the gym was closed for the present time (because we’re not able to monitor the QR codes and the COVID certificate).

He mentioned also that he was running on the treadmill sometime recently and it stopped suddenly, which could have created a major incident. He is a lawyer and said that this type of accident could create a lawsuit.

We need to look into what we put into the gym so that situations like this don’t reoccur. Darren, would you please have the machine turned off until a decision is made by the Body Corporate as to whether or not we replace it or find another piece of equipment.

Thank you.
Craig
