 Would be good to see how many days there will be of noisy work. I suspect 3 or 4 days of not being able to work from home. There are still high numbers of people working from home here and I suspect that will remain until at least September.

Let's see how many noisy days they are talking about.

Hi All,

 Regarding the proposed works. Im happy for the owner to go ahead with the works.  However I think we need to have a discussion about noise. This is a large renovation that will be very noisy. At the moment there are quite a few people working from home in the building because of the current COVID-19 restrictions.  There would be   few days of extreme noise for people on level 3 and 2 which would make phone call's and video conferences impossible.  I don't want to impede the owners works however I think perhaps a discussion on timing is warranted.

Interested to hear everyone input.

Please find the following documents attached to assist with approving the works:


  *   JSR Builders Pty Ltd Q4609 – Detailed scope of works
  *   Kitchen & bathroom proposed floor plans & elevations
  *   Regupol 5512 5mm acoustic underlay – Product information on the proposed acoustic underlay for hard flooring
  *   Duram Industries – Primer & waterproofing product data sheet (Waterproofing certificate to be provided on completion)
  *   JSR Builders Pty Ltd – Builders Contractor Licence
  *   Workers Compensation – Certificate of Currency
  *   Contract Works & Legal Liability – Certificate of Currency

Please also note that we will adhere to all Strata By-laws & our standard protocols include the following:

  *   Working hours limited to the days / hours specified in the by-law
  *   Protective floor coverings will be installed to common areas & regularly cleaned throughout the renovation process
  *   Ensure any measure taken to protect Common Property from damage do not present a trip hazard or otherwise compromise the safety of any resident or visitor
  *   Transport all materials, equipment & debris in the manner reasonably directed by the Strata Committee
  *   Take steps to mitigate any disturbance to other residents by vibration, noise, dust & dirt
  *   Ensure tradesperson’s vehicles do not obstruct the Common Property
  *   Minimise the extent to which security doors are blocked open & supervising access through stairwells during any period where security may be compromised
  *   Promptly repair any damage to any part of the property that is directly or indirectly caused by the works
  *   No rubbish will be placed in the building’s bins.  All rubbish will be removed off site with our tipper truck.  We do not require skip bins for the works.
  *   We will display a commencement notice in the buildings common area to give occupants notice of the upcoming works, expected noisy periods & emergency contact numbers.

In line with national work, health & safety requirements & the current health & safety obligations to meet COVID-19 working arrangements, we commit to making space on site to minimise the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by adopting the following principles:

  *   Ensure the Government’s social distancing criteria are met at all times
  *   Ensure the Government’s self-isolation rules are met at all times
  *   Isolating all building work areas from non-building work areas
  *   Managing project scheduling to minimise overlaps & numbers of people on site
  *   Ensure workers have access to appropriate PPE
  *   Ensure adequate hygiene & safety facilities are provided on site for all workers
  *   Facilitate contactless deliveries, payments & travelling out of peak times
  *   Facilitate site inductions & updates on latest Government requirements
