Dear Committee,

I have provided approval for Mark’s insurance contractor to core drill the holes as detailed below with the following requirements to be followed –


·         All core drilled holes must be repaired back to the concrete slabs original state

·         Any damage caused to another Lots property or common property due to the core drilling will be required to be repaired

I was not aware The Act made a determination between the reason common property was being modified.

I have no objections to the contractor completing the work once the building engineer determines there is no conflict between building hydraulic and electrical services and the proposed drill site.

This is not to modify common property to complete renovations, this is for the contractor replacing the flooring that was water damaged in the Lot wanting to core drill holes to make sure all moisture has been removed before installing the replacement floor boards.

The core holes will be repaired after moisture readings have been taken.

Good morning  Mark

Just in regards to the drilling of holes for core testing this process is common and will not affect the structure of the  build in any case and we drill and insert a core sleeve that then seals up the hole drilled 1cm W x 8 cm L and new flooring is laid on top of sleeves.

Can you confirm what FRA would plan to do with the core drilled holes after you have the required measurements to bring this slab back to pre-existing conditions? What is the remediation process for repairing these or is there any requirement given the size of these holes?
