Hi All,
Darren has informed me that the building access control system
computer has crashed. We have tried over the last few days to arrange
repair however it seems the system was never backed up and the
manufacturer is unwilling to provide the old software only sell us a new
system.
Both Darren and I have attempted to find copys of the software through
security people we know. I have even had one of my overseas offices in
the systems origin country attempt to get the software out of the
manufacturer with no luck.
As a result the building access control system will need to be
replaced. Darren is obtaining quotes now and has found a system that
will allow us to use the same keys and readers as the existing system
which will save us a bit of money. However it's likely to be $5k~
Until the system is replaced it will not be possible to create new
swipes if new tenants move in. However the system will work with the
existing swipes. Darren has a couple of outstanding swipes to program
for new tenants so delay is not an option. I expect to see quotes over
the next week once they are here we will need to vote on which quote.
Kind Regards
Matt.
