Good Morning All

Last week the abseilers installed a flashing to the level 2 extended slab (above 104). After 45 minutes of water flooding (test) the façade it seemed that the flashing held the water out.

We await the engineers report which will be independent to the action carried out thus far.

On Wednesday the abseilers spent most of the day flooding the façade outside 104. At approximately 10am water penetrated the apartment through the same area as first reported. This was repeated to ensure the source of ingress. Once dry the area was later sealed and retested to find that water continued to penetrate the apartment.

Today we removed more gyprock from the wall of the apartment and found an unusual detail of the construction. Part of the area is constructed of single skin and there is an area where the slab work ends and brick work continues. In both circumstances flashing has not been installed so any water penetrating the cavity above will not be drained through the weep holes even though they exist.

I have contacted the same engineer who inspected 601 to meet me on site tomorrow to review the concern.

In the interim the abseilers have sealed all windows in the immediate area.

We will know more hopefully tomorrow.
