Dear All,

I'm not a gym user either. I understand that having the facility 'adds value' to our property and is a benefit to the occupants but I do sometimes think that it's a waste of money to keep such a small facility up and running. I wonder how much it would be to get a corporate membership with 'Fitness First' or 'Anytime Fitness'? It might be cheaper than keeping the gym going and would also add value to being a resident. I'm happy to go with the majority but just 'putting it out there'!

Hello all,

My point with the matts is that they are the main cause for making the gym un-useable. They are still leeching strong chemical odours after two years. Breathing deeply after, and through, a workout has made me feel ill and have a headache. Therefore I won't use the space, particularly for fear of what is in the chemicals that I would be breathing.

Could we cheaply replace the existing matts for toxic free ones?

-          If the matts are lifted the concrete will need to be resurfaced (grinded) to be aesthetically pleasing

-          The skirting boards will need to be removed and lowered down to the ground surface

Another way to provide cross ventilation is to install and industrial fan. With the industrial fan and the existing toilet exhaust fan, cross ventilation is created.

If the louvers are too expensive, I would suggest removing the rubber mats, which are the cause of the smell. We can just use the A/C when necessary.
