I must have confused you with my long winded email sorry. No one is proposing we pay anything to lease out cages. We are just trying to arrive at a price.
Other then the cost of George cleaning out there has been no cost to the strata.
I have said 45. Some have suggested 50 Andrew has suggested it should be lower. The only thing to decide is price.
I will follow up with an email that has some voting options we can have a quick informal vote on a price.
Once decided we can go forward and make some revenue for the owners corp.
Matt

Andrew has opined that he believes the strata fees are high and does not believe that we should charge for cages. I countered that the best person to give us a real idea of the finances going forward is Ed.
> Cool, I agree with Andrew in terms of raising strata fees. Under no circumstances will I be voting to raise fees so we can let out a few cages. That would be ridiculous. Our fees are disproportionally high, in fact very high ( no pool, no concierge etc etc ) I would ask though why has letting out a few cages become so complicated. When I first raised this matter of raising additional revenue about 18 months ago, it was a good idea. George and Matt cleared the cages legally, Matt has proposed we open them up to the tenants, I agree, all we have to do is agree on a figure and volia, open for sale, extra revenue, bang, happy days.

> I think this is saying let’s wait for Ed to do the sinking fund update for us in the new year. Why don’t we just open the cages for lease in the meantime. Let’s make a decision, run with it. What’s the worst that can happen? It certainly won’t cost us money. Everyone wins. I 100% agree on utilising Ed’s expertise in this area, just not sure why we can’t just let the cages out for now.

I can’t imagine that increasing levies to cover upgrading common areas would be palatable to most so we must find another way. This is probably not the best time of year to embark on this project as lots of us are very busy with the festive season but I think a meeting early in the New Year would be a good idea. We also need to think of someone to head up the project now that Rohan is leaving us. Just for the record my wife (Anne) has now retired and would be happy to do some work on this. She has a great creative flair and is well organised.
