George,

 

For the record, I stood outside the lift door and spoke with the young
lady..she was (at times) frantic.   When I spoke with the lift company
initially, I was advised that the repair contractor would be at least one
hour.  I spoke with them again approximately 20 minutes later, when the
young lady was frantic, and they confirmed again that the initial phone call
was logged at 4:20pm and that the repair man would be there, in no less time
than one hour.

 

Again, police rescue will be called in the future to get these 'victims'
out.

 

Unless Mr Willett would like to perhaps move into the building and use his
'master' key to unlock the lifts?

When I spoke with the Lift Company who called their tech at the time, I was
advised that the tech would arrive in 40 minutes. The trapped lady may have
been frantic at first but when I phoned her at the time she seemed to be ok.
My conversation with her was normal and when I informed her that the lift
company would be there in 40 minutes she didn't have an issue. I then called
her back shortly after and gave her an update.

 

The lift has been shut down until further notice whilst tests are carried
out.

This elevator number 1 situation is becoming ridiculous.  We've had the same
problem with the same life for 5 weeks.

 

The young woman was trapped in it for 45 minutes and you suggested she
simply wait until the serviceman arrived.  In the future, if anyone is
caught in the lift and the lift company says that we have to wait an hour to
get a person out ( and they are frantic, as this young lady was), I intend
to once again call police rescue to prize the doors open.

 

Bugger the expense of having the doors opened by force.  We are NOT going to
simply leave someone in a lift if they are in a frantic
situation................................and the lift service company can
bear the cost.
