Rob,

I'll just respond to the points ...which warrant a response. And not waste
anyone's time.

Subject: [200William-EC] Your apartment renovations and your EC
responsiblities

Hi Craig

Personally as an EC member, I find your email to Shane offensive. And this
coming from you after turning up over an hour late for the last AGM after we
called you a number of times.

Yes, an oversight for which I apologised at the time. However, I believe
the at the last EC meeting you didn't even have the manners to provide us
with an apology for not being there. Are you not the Chairman??

And inebriated and abusive to others and in particular Maxine to boot. So
your credibility is zero when it comes to setting examples I am afraid.

Yes, inebriated on a glass of hot milk...

Maxine, I believe has 'been around the block' well and truly....and
understands that concerned members of an EC sometimes have to drive the
point home to get things done. Point in question - how's the signage for
William Street coming along....not to mention the meeting with Andrew Veron
(I mean, it's only been 9 months since you agreed to do something about
that). Very responsible. Hmmm?

To question Shane's commitment wreaks of the erratic behaviour that has been
coming from you of late. Shane was instrumental in getting things back on an
even keel in relation to the budgets and without his assistance and
expertise in these matters we wouldn't be where we are today. I am sure
Shane does not need me to defend his position but I am. (but go ahead
anyway) How bloody dare you ask him to consider his position.

"Where we are today?" A very good question Rob. Where ARE we today????

And now you are going through someone else's garbage. Very odd. I actually
found a couple of dogs in there also Rob - I retrieved them and returned
them to their respective apartments.

If tenants / people choose not to recycle there is nothing we can do about
it. (totally agree with you Rob. I can only imagine what your garbage room
must look like) We need to offer advise (the correct word is "advice") and
make constructive suggestions but even though we live in a very Nanny state,
we cannot force them. Worry about your own business first and let other to
theirs. I will take your "advice" (note spelling) to heart J

As far as I can see Shane Ellis is improving the property by modernising his
apartment. We should be thankful. I agree wholeheartedly. Let's forget
about all the complaints from tenants/other apartment occupiers. However,
didn't you find the noise a little frustrating to bear and the fact that his
contractors created such a mess in the building...some of it at our
expense??..................oh..forgive me.....you don't live in the
building...and have been away overseas.

This is my one and only comment about the matter. Lets move on. Now, did I
mention anything about the signage for William Street and the meeting with
Andrew Veron. I'll be happy to move on as long as you get moving and
following through with items you have agreed to take care of......or would
you like some assistance from me? Happy Australia Day...... J

Shane,

For weeks we have put up with all your garbage/trash in the P4 level car
park and you have been asked repeatedly by George Ziri to move it (finally
some of it was moved yesterday).

Approximately one week ago, I saw your workers abusing the by-laws by using
electricity on level P4 for their electric saws to cut materials, for your
apartment renovation. As a result, dust now covers a lot of the floor area
and cars on P4.

We replaced the carpets in each of the elevators because your contractors
simply wouldn't put down protective coverings in either lift during your
renovations, nor on your level 4 lobby carpets (I had to ask them to put
something floor covering down from your apartment to the lifts to try and
protect the carpets). Your contractor Cameron, in fact, advised me that you
were going to replace the elevator carpets at the end of your refurbishment.
However, you haven't even mentioned that to anyone on the EC.....and we have
ended up jointly paying for the replacement carpets.

There are several of us on the EC who really work hard to try and maintain
the building and reduce overall costs. It might seem strange to you, but as
an example, I frequently go down to the garbage room because I am amazed at
the number of people who simply don't care about recycling. The recycling
issue has become such a problem that a month ago another notice was sent out
to all tenants/owners to recycle as much as possible (see attached). I
personally put two of these notices up on the garbage room wall.

This morning I was simply stunned and extremely disappointed, during one of
my regular "recycling visits" to the garbage room, to find a bag filled with
empty glass bottles, in one of the "regular" garbage bins. Your name was on
a piece of correspondence (please see attached picture).

Shane, we have a responsibility, as members of the EC, to set an example for
the owners/tenants of Marquis, to maintain the building and reduce costs, to
the best of our abilities. It seems to me that you simply don't care
anymore about what happens in our building. Please, either set that example
yourself or consider not to serve on the EC anymore.

Sincerely,

Craig Laforest
