I am not convinced coir is a good replacement for high traffic areas.
Once it is dirty it is almost impossible to clean as the dirt really
gets absorbed.
Basic carpeting which we know we need to replace every couple of years
or tiling is best I believe.

Hi All,
The coir option should be a lot less expensive than carpet (and far
more effective in protecting the lift carpet). Coir is not in fact
carpet but wiry matting such as seen in door mats - so the two should
not be confused. I don't see that the insurance would have the
slightest problem with our choosing this option if others agree. It
would be good to know if they do...
