Brilliant response Rob. All very well for you to go off and take your
'dive.' We live in the fucking building and would like to get matters
resolved sooner than later.
Enjoy your swim.........and my response is NO to waiting until the next EC
meeting.

OK, enough already.
Hands up all those in favour of waiting until the next EC meeting?
My hand is up-YES
Too many emails going back and forth, I'm going for a dive, have a great day
and see you at the next EC meeting

Dave,
With all due respect, this is always the problem over a matter which can be
resolved very quickly. Really, Dave, we live in the building and it's just
not acceptable that we always have to wait on matters that have been raised
previously. We had the discussion at our AGM - let's make a decision so that
we can move forward and not repeat the discussion at our next EC meeting.
Regards.

How ridiculous Matt!
What does it take to get our building more secure? I enjoy living in
Marquis but I'm fed up with the uncertainty of undoing my window to stretch
outside, while someone is loitering in the area near the garage entry. Do
we need one of the tenants to be attacked while entering for us to change
our minds? We stopped liquor on level 7 because we had people abusing the
system and making life unsafe for the apartments below (bottles, ciggies
etc).
For an extra $145 I don't think we're really asking too much to make life
easier and safer.
Regards,
Craig
P.S. You mentioned the other day in an email to me that you felt the levies
were very reasonable. Why the shift in attitude? Are they all of a sudden
too high? We're talking safety here!

It's a NO for me on the following grounds.
a) Security is decreased in the car park by people leaving controllers in
their cars.
b) There is already complaints about fees being to high. This is an
additional $145 approx on the levies P/A Others are already complaining
about levies.
c) There is a zero cost solution available.

Can everyone please revisit George's quotes. I believe they ranged from
$7500 to $9,000 approx. If we are in agreement with the issue of having a
safer, easier access in and out of the garage, let's get this garage door
remote control in asap. I look forward to your responses.

Provided we can use the same control for the exit (see my earlier email) I
agree we should go ahead with Tesnik - let's also make certain there is a
warranty for 12 months minimal.
To make it simpler for George, it should be the task, I believe, of the
leasing agent to monitor the return of each remote control, each time a
tenant signs up for a lease or leaves. George can then audit (every 6
months). This way he is not out there chasing down remote controls. The
leasing agent has this added responsibility (this method works well at a
property I own).
Others thoughts?
Cheers

OK, on that basis, I vote yes for Tesnik remote control at $4150 + GST. I
presume that comes with 50 remote controls as well.
Can we do a proper admin of who had remote controls. Like Panorama, they
should only be given to people who have a car spot and each person should be
made to pay a deposit.
We should do a proper audit each 6 months following installation. That is,
recode every 6 months to allow for those who lose or move out or don't turn
up to have their remote recoded.
The funds should go to the Marquis rather than third party suppliers.
Is anyone in agreement?

Hi All
First, thanks George for sending through the details.
Obviously the lower cost from $4150 + GST is more appealing. However, from a
technical and adequacy perspective does it do the job of not requiring
people to lean out their widows and swipe?
Thanks
ROB

Hi George,
Thanks for this, can you let me know if we received competitive quotes/ If
so, would it be possible we can see them. It's a LOT of money at present
for a non-essential item, so I would be voting no at this stage
Many thanks

A definite YES from me.
As discussed at the AGM, not only does this new system provide safety for
the driver behind the wheel (you don't have to roll your window down or open
your locked door), but it saves one from having to stretch out the window to
scan the card. Several times the garage entry area is used by people
urinating or by homeless people and it is becoming a safety hazard to have
to open the garage door from the car, in the current manner.

Good Morning All,
>From the minutes of the AGM we have been asked to obtain a quote for a long
range reader to be installed to the garage door.
The price range is approximately $9000.
You may recall back in 2005, the hand held remote control to the garage door
was made redundant and replaced with the FOB (grey air key). This was
introduced to allow for all users to be monitored. It has worked well since.
The hand held remote control system can be reactivated if you wish.
Please provide me with a yes or no to follow through.
