Hi Craig,
a)Carpet in lifts is currently in progress - Good to hear.
b) The car park line marking started though i was asked to send a sample
prior. The sample was sent to the EC back in June for approval though i
hadn't received a reply. Email attached.
Thank you for the copy of the email. Another example perhaps of an idea
which has been raised at our EC meeting and has not been carried out fully.
If the decision is made to move forward with this idea ie to paint the car
space floors, please note I do NOT want my apartment number painted in
front of my car spaces.
After the incident which occurred here this past Sunday morning, when police
were called to handle a dispute between two men in the street and the
tenants who were partying in apartment 404 (rocks being hurled at the
apartment from the street and threats of the building being burned down and
against people within the building), I wish to maintain my complete
privacy! Thank you.
c) I was only aware of the lift carpet being replaced. The carpet on each
level is in satisfactory condition.
At the meeting we had on April 30, the condition of the carpets on each
floor was raised and it was agreed that we should soon look at replacing
them (see following note from minutes of that meeting, below). However, I
have noted that you now consider the carpets on each level are in a
satisfactory condition? As per the minutes, I consider the possible
replacement is a matter the EC does indeed...need to "discuss."
10. Carpet Replacement on Level 6
That the carpet replacement on level 6 and the possibility of replacing the
carpet in all of the lobbies be discussed and that the managing agent be
given direction for action to be taken.

Hello Dave et al,
We can certainly keep looking for cheaper quotes for the elevator carpets.
However, to maintain the luxury quality of the main lobby entrance (and our
building) are we then going to cheapen that overall look.... by using a less
expensive/commercial quality carpet in the elevators? To save $300-$400?
Have any of the non-resident owners seen the elevator carpets over the past
few months? They are absolutely putrid with stains which cannot be removed
by steam cleaning.
It's important to note that at the EC meetings we make certain decisions in
order to maintain the building. At the EC meeting we had at Di Dennison's
apartment 6 months ago (May!!), we discussed and agreed to:
a) replace the elevator floors with tile or carpet. Nothing has
happened to change the carpets in the lifts.
b) to paint apartment numbers on the car spaces (I have no idea why
this was brought up - I think it would be very confusing and unnecessary)
To date, numbers have not been painted.
c) a sign was to be made for the William Street entrance to direct
people to our main entrance. Rob has been busy overseas and it's great that
he is meeting me this coming Wednesday to have this signage matter taken
care of once and for all.
d) have quotes obtained for new lobby carpet on each floor. I haven't
seen any quotes to date.
I consider it imperative that all members of the EC share the
responsibility, in a timely manner, on items which have been agreed to at
our EC meetings. In the past couple of months I have personally taken a lot
of time researching elevator carpet samples/prices to replace the stained
lift carpets. If the consensus is to now obtain a third quote, for the sake
of $300-$400, or to replace the flooring with carpet tiles etc, I am more
than happy to pass this matter over to someone else on the EC to take charge
of.
As an effective EC, I would simply like to recommend that in future, the
items we have agreed to at our EC meetings, are attended to in a much faster
manner and each of us should assume some responsibility.
Thank you and regards,
Craig

Craig - yes
Rob - Concern over cost
Dave - Check third quote
Shane - yes
Matt - yes
Di - no response
Is it possible to wait till George get the third quote. It may be cheaper
and is only a short delay.
Thanks

George,
I believe we have enough of the votes in to order the carpet so please go
ahead and do so asap. It will look wonderful and finally our lifts will
look as good as our main entrance does!
Thank you.
Cheers,
Craig

If we are going to go carpet. Im happy to go with commercial grade (which it
appears to be by the spec) It's no use replacing it in 3 years because we
saved ~ $400
George my vote is for the $1050 option as suggested by Craig.
Matt.

The $1050 (includes GST) is very reasonable for commercial carpet. As I
mentioned earlier, level E carpet has kept its appearance very, very well
over the years with an enormous amount of foot traffic. Let's continue to
maintain our building as a luxury-style apartment block E carpet.
Cheers,
Craig
P.S. . The sample that Matt just sent through doesn't really do the carpet
justice. Again, it's almost identical to the entry carpet on level E.

Hi Rob,
Yes you are correct, it is a lot of money. This blueish coloured carpet is
top quality.
The original red carpet that is in the lift is average quality. But to have
the same red carpet replaced with a better quality came in at $602, by the
contractor with a little information.
I'm still waiting on one more quote but Craig Laforest would like this
addressed ASAP. Once I receive this quote I will send.

Thanks for the costs George
Apart from the first one, which lacks any detail, all seem expensive.
>From my "novice" perspective, it's 2 small squares of carpets. I was
recently put 110sqm of carpet in an investment apartment and, admittedly
because it's a rental I went low, but the cost was $ 2250 for the whole
thing. How many sqm is this?
I understand we probably need carpet that is durable, and can take a lot of
wear 'n tear. I am open to suggestions.
Thanks
ROB
